Sunday evening saw Brendan Rodger's Liverpool progress through to the FA Cup 4th Round after a hard fought win over Conference side Mansfield Town at Field Mill. Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring with a debut goal before substitute Luis Suarez became the centre of much ESPN milked controversy. Replays showed the ball clearly deflected onto his hand inside the box before the Uruguayan smashed the ball home. Mansfield pulled a deserved goal back through Matt Green, but despite a few nervy moments, Liverpool were able to see out the remainder to book their place in the next round and a clash with Oldham Town.
